Pacing of Unit 7 with CT Connections:
Only the lessons that have a change made to them are listed below. All other lessons should be taught as shown in EDM book.
- 7-13 Choose if you want to add an extra day into the unit or not.
- If you do not want to add an extra day into the unit do this:
- Replace the “Creating a Line Plot with 1/8-Inch Increments” on page 729 with the Scratch Lesson, Line Plots (Length of Straw Pieces) Scratch lesson
- Use student created line plots as the Mystery Line Plot and for questions on “Math Master p. 291” shown on p. 730.
- Eliminate “Playing Fraction Multiplication Top-It” on page 731.
- If you have time to add an extra day into the unit do this:
- Day 1
- Do the “Creating a Line Plot with 1/8-Inch Increments” as shown on page 729.
- Use “Math Journal 2, p. 266” and “Math Journal 2, p. 267” both shown on p.730.
- Eliminate “Playing Fraction Multiplication Top-It” on page 731.
- Day 2 (added day)
- Do the Line Plots (Length of Straw Pieces) Scratch lesson.
- Use student created line plots as the Mystery Line Plot and for questions on “Math Masters, p. 291” shown on p. 730.
- If you do not want to add an extra day into the unit do this:
